Things to Do for Memorial Day Weekend 2016 Midland TX
Memorial Day is quickly approaching, taking place on May 30 this year. In order to make the most of the long weekend, we’ve put together a list of things to do for Memorial Day weekend 2016 in Midland TX and the surrounding area. The High Sky Wing, a unit of the Commemorative Air Force, is inviting residents in the area to the Midland Army Airfield Museum on May 30 at 10 a.m. For free, attendees can take cockpit tours and airplane rides, as well as enjoy food trucks and other attractions for the family. The High Sky Wing will do a Missing Man fly-over after the official ceremony, which begins at 12 p.m.
Midland TX Pools Open Memorial Day
Public pools in Midland TX officially open on June 4, but because of the long weekend, they’ll be opening up for Memorial Day weekend as well. The pools that are letting swimmers in on May 29 to May 30 are the Washington Aquatic Center and the Doug Russell Aquatic Center. The hours for Memorial Day weekend are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Memorial Day, and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Sockers FC Soccer Match
Though we don’t have any Major League Soccer teams in Midland, attending a Sockers FC match can still be a lot of fun. They’ll be playing Mississippi Brilla on May 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Grande Communication Stadium.
Concert With Neal McCoy, Casee Allen
If you head into Odessa, you can check out a performance by Neal McCoy with Casee Allen at Dos Amigos. The concert is on May 28 at 6 p.m. You should contact the venue for tickets. Attendees must be 18 or over.
17th Annual Ride to Remember
If you ride a motorcycle, you might consider partaking in the 2016 Ride to Remember on May 30. It will start at the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Midland. Staging starts at 6 a.m., while the actual ride beings at 10 a.m. A memorial service will be held before the ride and a lunch will follow.
